My poem i wrote hahahha
I am from water bottles, from Gatorade and Propel.
I am from freshly cut blades of grass, the shade of a great maple tree.
I am from clanging and clashing of shin guards and sudden blows of the whistle.
I am from the raging tackles and shouts of a foul.
From dangerous plays and high kicks.
I am from countless throw-ins and endless head balls.
I’m from the hard work and training, from the extensive amount of sprints.
From the wins and loses, the cheers and boos.
I am from the bruises and broken bones, from medals and trophies.
I am from blaring country music, from Dierks Bentley and Faith Hill.
I am from old trucks and fast cars.
From long car rides and fishing trips up north.
I’m from spending a day out on a lake, from spending a night under the stars.
I am from ATV rides with my cousins and feeding corn to the deer.
I’m from rolling around in the long grass and playing hide-in-go-seek in the woods.
From slowly cooked hot dogs and homemade roasted smores.
I am from the howls of a coyote as the moon starts to rise.
From the chirping of crickets as they sing you off to sleep.
I am from watching the sunset in the purple and orange sky.
I’m from home cooked chicken and the smell of freshly baked pie.
I am from sounds of tornados and watching lighting flash across the darken sky.
From the laughter of children playing Off-the-wall, from the fun of making pool waves by countless cannonballs.
I am from the endless games of tag and the white socks that turned green on the bottom.
I’m from the great river valleys of Ohio and the rolling plains of Kansas. |
